Southeast Select 26" x 37"
SE Select: El Cap Right Side, Yosemite National Park, CA
PUBLISHED IN 2002, FIRST EDITION • SIZE: 26” X 37”
This project started with a desire to document the new wave routes sweeping El Cap's Southeast Face in the late 90's.Routes like the Reticent Wall and Disorderly Conduct went up. And to my great surprise, Steve Grossman agreed to release his topo of the Central Scrutinizer. As always, Tom Frost provided me with a base image. Utilizing telephoto images taken from different times, with different shadows, and by "flattening" the oblique area around the Wall of Early Morning Light, every feature could be seen and each route followed. This obsessively comprehensive document is perfect for referencing hard right-side nail-ups. Requires coffee and a magnifying glass! For more info see our About section.
